Bedtime Stories

We encourage good bedtime routines as essential for helping children to get the sleep they need to learn the following day.

We promote this through our Bedtime Challenge.   Each term children are challenged to clean their teeth and share a story with a grown up each night before their go to bed.

Children who join in receive a special prize.  Well done to the children that completed our Autumn Challenge.

Rhyme of the week

Every child receives a Rhyme of the Week book when they join nursery.  This already has some traditional nursery rhymes inside it for parents/carers to share with their child.

Every week in F1 and every two in 2-3s children receive a new rhyme to add into their book.  The children will have been learning the rhyme and talking about what the words in it mean and you can too.  The children usually learn some Makaton signs to go along with the rhyme so that all our children can join in.

Very often the rhyme is linked to the story, celebration or seasonal learning the children have been engaged with over the previous week.

Please click on the videos below if you are unsure of the tune to any of the rhymes.
